What is Open Innovation as a Service
A unique path, two ways to grow.
Open Innovation as a Service is the program through which Futurea, as an Innovation Hub selected under the 'Open Innovation Sicilia' Notice, supports the creation and growth of innovative companies in the regional territory.
Whether you have an idea to transform into a business or an already established startup to bring to the market, OIS provides you with personalized mentoring, specialized skills, a network of partners, all reimbursed by the Sicilian Region to help your project grow.
The program lasts 12 months and takes place in a hybrid mode, between in-person and online meetings.
Acceleration
For already established startups and MPMIs
If you already have an established business and a validated or in-validation business model, acceleration helps you grow: go-to-market strategies, industrial and commercial partnerships, preparation for investment rounds, and support in meetings with investors.
- From 6 to 10 selected companies.
- For MPMIs established for no more than 60 months.
Incubation
For aspiring entrepreneurs and teams
If you have an innovative business idea but have not yet established the company, incubation guides you from the idea to the startup: idea validation, business model, prototype/MVP development, training, mentoring, and legal support for incorporation.
- From 3 to 10 selected teams
- For individuals, single or in teams, residing in Sicily
Thematic Areas (S3 Sicily 2021-2027)
The program gives priority to the Tourism, Culture, and Cultural Heritage sector. Depending on the applications received, other areas of the Smart Specialization Strategy (S3) Sicily 2021-2027 are also admitted.
Priority will be given to projects that apply Key Enabling Technologies (KETs) and particular attention to youth and female entrepreneurship.
